| A native of Rapid City, Robert L Lewis graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota School of Law in 1982. He previously obtained Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of South Dakota in 1979. He was a member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon honor society for economics.
Bob joined Costello Porter in 1982 after law school. His primary focus has been as a trial lawyer in all aspects of civil litigation with special emphasis on civil rights, discrimination, employment law and professional misconduct. A certified mediator, he has extensive experience with jury trials, mediation, arbitration and other types of alternative dispute resolution. He has also had substantial involvement with the federal administrative system with regard to cases involving federal employees. He has been general counsel to a number of medical facilities and businesses throughout the Black Hills area.
Through the years, Bob has spoken to numerous professional and business groups on issues related to employment matters and civil rights.
Bob retired in 2000 to pursue other business interests, but returned to Costello Porter in September, 2009.
In his personal life, he is an avid golfer, skier, tennis player and sports fan. Bob was the 1993 Rapid City city golf champion. |
