Don Porter has handled a variety of defense litigation over his 20 years with the firm, primarily personal injury related and involving everything from hot air balloon and power line accidents to the always changing field of vehicle and truck accident litigation. He especially enjoys technical expert issues and "junk science" challenges to experts' testimony.
After graduation from the Universities of Notre Dame (B.A. Government) and South Dakota (law degree) he practiced as an Assistant US Attorney before joining Costello Porter. He has been active in the State and Pennington County Bar Associations and a long time member of the defense bar associations in South Dakota and the national DRI. Always an advocate of efficiency gains through the use of technology in the law office, he has promoted office implementation of good networking and communication technologies.
Outside the office Mr. Porter and his wife Maggie (a stockbroker) spend lots of time raising their three children and trying to stay physically fit so that they can keep up with their three children.
