Don Porter Receives Another Win

In August, a Rapid City jury returned a verdict for Don Porter's client, a home inspector, and two other defendant sellers of a home in a buyers' suit claiming violations of the statutory home disclosure laws, intentional fraud, and deceit and negligence in the inspection.
Sellers argued that the buyers had unreasonable expections in purchasing an older Rapid City home with some foundation cracks and other imperfections. Questions of structural integrity of the home were examined by experts and the home inspector weighed in with his findings showing some potential problems.
The Jury found in favor of the home inspector and the two other defendants and did not award plaintiff anything.
